Admissions Criteria

Criteria for admission to Tower Behavioral Health in Reading, Pennsylvania

The Tower Behavioral Health admissions team works closely with each patient to prepare them to receive treatment at our facility. While all admissions decisions are made on an individual basis, you must meet these general criteria to receive care at our facility:

  • Ages 14-17 or age 18 and older
  • Have a primary mental health diagnosis
  • If addiction is a concern, this is a secondary diagnosis

Our compassionate and skilled staff offers supportive care to adolescents and adults who have a range of needs. Additionally, we plan to expand our services to include treatment of children who are struggling with behavioral health concerns.

Our Admissions Process

Patients begin the admissions process by speaking with our knowledgeable admissions team. They will answer questions, collect basic information, and guide patients through the remainder of the admissions process. Our team will review each patient’s medical history and present needs to determine whether our program is a good fit for them.

Once it is determined that you would benefit from receiving care at Tower Behavioral Health, our team will begin an admissions evaluation to assist in structuring the care you will receive at our facility. This evaluation will help our team determine treatment methods that will promote the most beneficial outcome. These evaluations will help form preliminary treatment plans and begin within 24 hours of a patient being admitted to our facility.

Our thorough evaluation process assists our team in developing a customized treatment plan and later assigning clinical care staff to each patient to support their recovery journey. This personalized treatment plan will be compiled starting 72 hours after admission.

The day an individual starts treatment at Tower Behavioral Health, we begin to prepare for their eventual discharge. By the time a patient is ready to transition out of our care, we will have established a detailed aftercare plan to support their continued progress.

The interdisciplinary approach our team uses helps ensure the comfort and optimal care of each patient. We know that the recovery process can be difficult, which is why we aim to meet all our patients’ needs each step of the way. We intend to provide a smooth and safe transition to our care so that you or your loved one can begin the healing journey.
